The Adventures of Sneaky E

Hello Everyone!
What a fun day in first grade today!  Yesterday I introduced Sneaky E to the kids.  We had a ball brainstorming Sneaky E words and making the paper bag puppet.   We also learned the Sneaky E song.  Today we put what we learned into ACTION!  Literally!  We made little mini movies about The Adventures of Sneaky E.  We divided into 5 groups and each group chose a Sneaky E word.  A Sneaky E was chosen for each group, and then they were off to practice what they saw in their mind movies as to how Sneaky E would actually go about making the first vowel say it's name.  They were so cute as they practiced!  Then it was time to try to film!

Okay. UGH!  I've been trying to upload our videos for the past hour and something is just not clicking!!  I am soooo sorry!  I will try again tomorrow, because they are just too cute!! If someone out there knows how to help,  I would appreciate it!! I'm thinking the files might be too big.

Till then, have a great night! Don't let Sneaky E sneak up on you!!
Joyfully!
Nancy

Sneaky E is back!

Hello Everyone!
One of the most fun activities we did this past year was the study of Sneaky E. You can view the whole post by searching this blog for Sneaky E or searching by date 1/26/12.
I wanted to share the little Sneaky E poem I just revamped. It tells the story of what Sneaky E is all about!  I can't wait to share it with my new class this coming year!!

We made these pinterest inspired puppets of Sneaky E!

For your free copy of my poem click here! :)

Don't forget to look back at the original post on Sneaky E!  Be on the lookout for that sneaky fellow!!
Have a great day!
Joyfully!

Sneaky E Has Struck Again!!

Hello Everyone!! Well, it's happened again! Sneaky E has struck our classroom!  That sneaky letter has been busy all day pinching short vowels and making them shout their names!  I have never seen such a comotion!!  :)
We started our day with a story about Sneaky E  and making some cute little puppets, complete with masks and mustaches! Original idea came from Ms. Gable's 2nd  Grade blog! Thanks, Ms. Gable! The kids did a great job practicing their favorite CVCe (consonant, vowel, consonant, e) words all over the puppet! We worked on several activities where Sneaky E was very helpful in changing short vowel words to long vowel words. Great Job, Sneaky!!
Then, on the spur of the moment, we decided to break up into groups, and put on some little mini skits showing what Sneaky E does to unsuspecting short vowel words!!  Each group decided on the word, who would do each part and how they would show the process. We ended up filming all of the skits! We plan on showing the skits to the other first grade classes!!  I will try to upload them here as soon as I can figure it out! :)
Enjoy the pics for now!

I love our Sneaky E mustaches!!!  Thanks for a great day, VIK'S!!!

Thanks for taking a peek into our wonder-filled day!!
Stop by again!
Joyfully!
