Happy New Year! (a little early:))

Hello Everyone!
I know! It may be a little early to talk about the new year, but I wanted to share a little unit I just put together.  I am actually surprising myself by getting this organized already.  I am not normally one to be ahead of the game!  But I guess, as crazy busy as it has been at school so far, this is going to help me feel prepared for 2013. The week we get back from winter break is a short one, so this unit is only 33 pages long with two reader's response craft connections, some word work (we will be working on "open door" words) some great poems, and some math.  I hope you can use some of it!
Here are some quick pics of some of the pages.

2013 Mystery Picture- uses addition to solve puzzle (BTW- I did fix the silly double 38's I had on my other mystery picture puzzles! ) Thanks for pointing out my typos!!

Keep an eye here for updates and new ideas to add to my other units. The next couple of weeks are quite a fun blur!!
Have a wonderfilled week!  Thanks for stopping by!!
Joyfully!

  7. Nancy, I'm a first year teacher and I lucked up on finding your blog. I just want to say thank you soooo much!!! I'm at a lost with knowing how to teach and keep my kiddos engaged. Your units/resources give me so much that I'm not as discouraged now. I feel I can do this now with your materials. Hope I'll become half the teacher you are one day for my 1st graders. Thanks
