Help! Missing Numbers! Have you seen them?

Hello Everyone!
Next week we are going to work very hard on the tricky math objective "missing addend."  Kids have a hard time with this one! I put together a couple of games we will play both whole group and in small groups. The first one is called "Missing!" Students will work to come up with the number that is missing from their side of the gameboard before their partner.  The other is an adaptation of the game "Salute."  I'm calling it "Get Your Head In The Game!"  Two students put an unknown number card on their forehead. Another player tells the sum of the two numbers. Each player looks at the other player's card and has to figure out the number that is on their own card...The missing addend!  You may have played this before with a deck of playing cards. I've included some number cards in the download, in case you need them.

Oh!  Here's a little Math Scrabble game also.  Practice adding 3 addends!

Math Scrabble game download includes small printable scrabble tiles and large black and white ones to use for whole group activities.

If you are a parent, these would be great games to print off and practice playing at home, as well!!  Have fun!!

Have a great rest of the weekend!!

  1. Thanks Nancy! I love what you have done with the Scrabble game. That file will be great for literacy games too!

  2. These are awesome! Thank you so much for the great activities. We were just talking about this type of problem the other day and how hard it is for our kids. Hopefully this will help them.

  3. Thank you so much! We are working on missing addends too! I can't wait to use these activities in my class.

  4. How great! Thank you SO much!!
